Founded by Shri Prakash Rao Garu, inspired by his father's philanthropic spirit and supported by his wife, Mani, this home serves as a sanctuary for the elderly and mentally ill, providing them with care, dignity, and a sense of belonging.

Resilience in the Face of Adversity

The creation of the Loyola Oldage Home is a story of resilience and innovation. In the wake of the Hudhud cyclone, which wreaked havoc and left a trail of destruction across the region, Shri Prakash Rao took a bold step forward. Selling his ITI institutes, he utilized the proceeds along with salvaged materials from the cyclone's aftermath to rebuild and repurpose. With the help of friends, he transformed debris and broken tiles into the foundation of a new beginning for many. His unique approach to sustainability, including the use of discarded commodes as plant pots, symbolizes the regeneration of life from destruction.

A Home of Kindness and Care

The home, sprawling across four floors, provides refuge to approximately 175 inmates, embracing not only the elderly but also individuals with mental health challenges. Here, residents are treated with utmost kindness, engaging in activities like gardening that nurture both the body and soul. The heartwarming tale of providing sanctuary and support to a pregnant woman facing abandonment at eight months is a poignant illustration of Loyola Oldage Home's unwavering commitment. This act of kindness vividly showcases the home's dedication to embracing and aiding those in the most dire and vulnerable situations, reinforcing its mission to be a haven of hope and support for all who seek refuge within its walls.

A Legacy Continues

As Shri Prakash Rao ages, the stewardship of the Loyola Oldage Home has passed to his daughter, ensuring the enduring legacy of service and compassion. This transition marks a new chapter in the home's history, continuing to uplift and support its residents with unwavering dedication.

Our Contribution: A Step Towards Sustainability

Understanding the critical need for enhanced sleeping facilities, Ganesh Charitable Society contributed Rs. 1,25,000 towards the purchase of 10 high-quality steel cots. This contribution goes beyond addressing an immediate need; it significantly elevates the living conditions of the home's residents, offering them a more comfortable and dignified rest. This act is a testament to our shared vision with the Loyola Oldage Home—creating a nurturing environment that respects the dignity and comfort of all its inhabitants, further cementing our commitment to supporting their mission of providing a sanctuary of peace and comfort.

<a class="image-link image2 Our mission is to be the catalyst for change in the lives of those who need it most. Here’s a closer look at how we're making a real difference.

Supporting Orphans: A Foundation for the Future

Every child deserves a life filled with love, security, and opportunities. At GCS, we don't just say this; we act on it. We provide comprehensive care and education to orphans, ensuring they have the nurturing environment necessary to thrive. Our programs are designed to give these young minds a foundation for a brighter future, a place where dreams can turn into reality.

Caring for the Elderly: Honoring Wisdom and Experience

In a world that often moves too fast, the elderly can feel left behind. But not on our watch. We believe that the golden years should be lived with dignity, comfort, and joy. Our services for the elderly go beyond basic needs; we offer companionship, care, and the respect they richly deserve. We celebrate their wisdom and experience, ensuring they remain an integral and cherished part of our community.

Empowering the Differently-Abled: Breaking Barriers

For individuals with hearing and speech impairments, the world presents unique challenges. GCS stands committed to not just recognizing these challenges but actively working to overcome them. We offer educational opportunities, vocational training, and social inclusion programs tailored to empower the differently-abled. Our goal is simple yet profound: to break down societal barriers and open a world of possibilities for them to realize their full potential.

Fostering Growth Through Internships

At GCS, we recognize the importance of practical experience in fostering personal and professional growth. Our internship program is designed to offer hands-on learning opportunities for students and young professionals. Through this program, interns can develop valuable skills, gain real-world experience, and contribute meaningfully to our various initiatives. This not only aids their personal development but also amplifies our impact on the community. By investing in the next generation of change-makers, we are ensuring a sustainable and bright future for our society.

Join Our Mission

Every day, we witness incredible transformations – a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of dedicated support. But this journey isn’t ours alone. Your involvement, whether through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading awareness, can foster monumental changes in the lives of those we serve.

Together, let’s continue this journey of transformation, one life at a time. At GCS, we don’t just dream of a better world – we’re making it a reality.

Subscribe now
